Writer's Block

Seriously, people! I have sat down numerous times and tried to write and nothing worth printing came out. Instead of writing entire posts on non-post-worthy topics, I'll just list them here in short supply just to let you all know I'm still alive.

- Jeremy has been an absolute charm lately. I'm not sure if it was the virtual slap he must have felt via a commenter or because he finally just got a clue all on his own. Either way, he's been lovely and helpful and non jerk'ish and I like it. And him. So yea.

-Kyra is all into matching lately. Her morning routine goes something like this: Wake up, must potty to earn panties. Panties are picked to match her pj's. Breakfast is eaten. T-Shirt is chosen to match her panties, shorts are picked to be the same color as her shirt. Lately she's tried to get away with a green shirt/green shorts combo- neither of the greens are the same. She insists they match, Mommy overrules, Kyra is tricked into picking out a new outfit given the the option to choose green shirt/different shorts or different shirt/green shorts. She thinks she picked her own outfit, she finally matches, we're both happy.

-Friday I forced Kyra and Jeremy to go to the beach. Neither wanted to go, the grumps. They had the best day ever. Krya overcame her screaming, crying, fit pitching fear of playing in the ocean's waves with her Daddy's help. The highlight of the day was after Jeremy made me walk 17 blocks to a Greek restaurant I made him stop and get us ice cream on the way back to the car. Kyra's ice cream dripped down her arm all over Jeremy's head (as he was carrying her on his shoulders). It was a sticky, disgusting mess and I couldn't help but laugh and giggle at his poor state the entire 17 blocks back to the car. Because I'm sweet like that!

-Which one of you coughed in the general direction of the Mason Dixon Line? Kyra has a cold in the middle of JUNE! She's snot nosed/hacking/green booger producing and is still happy as a clam. The fact that she's on and off running a temperature is driving me insane. One minute she's fine, 98.1*. Six hours later she's running 101.3 for half the night. She wakes up back at 98.3. Four hours later she's 100.4*. Up and down, all without the help of Tylenol- because we found out every single bottle of fever reducing medicine we owned expired somewhere between the months of November '07 and March '08. Good times.

But that's it. Those are the most exciting and wonderful things I have to tell you. Wonder now why I've had writer's block?

  1. I have a similar routine with Jody, except he's old enough to buy his own panties, therefore he has already earned them. But he goes potty first anyway.

Jody's problem is with patterns. Plaid shorts with a (different) plaid shirt is his favorite combo. But all I have to do is give him 'the look' and he throws his hands up in the air and tells me to go pick out his clothes for him.

  2. Hey, if life weren't crazy, it would get monotonous.
