The Power of Willing

Ya'll.  I'm off to my in-laws house today.  We'll be there for a week.  And generally my in-laws are really great wonderfully awesome people, but the mother-in-law wants to take a trip to the sister-in-law's house and frankly I think I might cry. 

My SIL isn't, well, very nice.  To me.  I hear she can be nice, she's just not.  The Huz says she's just a bitch.  The MIL says she's a bitch.  The FIL says "You two are just strong willed women who both love Jeremy very much..."

Clearly she's a daddy's girl.

Anyway.  Jeremy says under no circumstance am I to venture to the SIL's house because our children don't need to watch her verbally tear me apart.  Again.  Jer's mother says it's not fair that the kids don't get to spend time with their cousins.  Kyra has physically seen them twice.  Neither time was she old enough to remember.

While I'm all I grew up knowing 1 out of a jillion cousins and I think I turned out relatively fine. And Jer's all I grew up with ALL my cousins and I think most of them I could have done without.  So.  WE, as in JEREMY AND MYSELF, are on the same page.  I have serious doubts about the rest of his family.  They're a conniving bunch. 

So, if you don't mind.  I'll be using The Power of Willing to the best of my ability to keep the SIL at bay.  If only so the girls don't see what a giant wuss I am when she starts screaming at me, again, as  I sit there curled up on the couch trying to figure out how to close my mouth. 

Nothing like seeing your mom defend herself with a gaped mouth and tears.
