I find that I'm the type of mother to nurture my children into playing in nature. So I guess it shouldn't have come as a surprise to me a few moments ago when Kyra brought in a few bugs to share the remaining two pieces of her peanut butter and jelly sandwich with. When I told her that bugs generally don't eat sandwiches, she then proceeded to pick him up and show him to me.
Her: Look, Mommy, he has antennae!
Me: You're right. He's using them to feel your [gardening] glove. He wants to know what you are and how he got there.
Her: (shouting to the bug on her finger) I'M A HUUUUUMAAAAAN, BUG! DID YOU KNOW THAT?!
Now I think I need to figure out how to teach her to say "I'm sorry" to nature.
This is hysterical
