"Home"

We've arrived. In the south. In the bible belt, where you'll find a church every couple hundred feet. We've arrived in the land of fried green tomatoes, sweet tea, and 90 degree heat in March.

I'm back "home", the place where I can't help but giggle and poke fun at my slow paced surroundings. *dum dee-dum dadum dee-dum* Where the world seems to have taken a step back from the rest of life, the rest of reality. At any given point you'll see a rifle rack in a back window of a truck, a rebel flag waving proudly, dogs running free, and children playing barefoot in the yard with no parents in sight.

And still, I'm back "home", with the slow pace of life I can't get ever seem to find while stuck in New England.

Jeremy left on deployment Friday. For 6 months. Kyra will be 2 when he comes home.

To speed things up, I chose to drive home. Because sometimes it's the slow pace of life that will make Jeremy's coming back seem that much faster.

  1. YAY! You made it! I know it is alot different down here that it is up there. Aaron and I went to upstate NY for Spring Break in....2004 I think it was, and it was like visiting a whole different world. I couldn't imagine living there. And yes, it is already hot here. Oh boy. Call me when you get a chance. Did you happen to call me yesterday? I had a missed call from a number I didn't recognize, but no voice message so I didn't call the number back.

  2. 6 months is a very long time. I'm not sure how I would handle a situation like that. It must be very tough....

On a lighter note...welcome back to Georgia!!!

  3. Yay! I was very worried, I was about to call your mother's house to make sure you got there. Yes I completely understand the slow moving pace of Georgia.....and yet I am moving back! I am not a slow moving kind of girl, i love the big city but hopefully I will change or another move will take place! Can't wait to see you and Kyra!

  4. Glad to hear that you are going to be with family, I completely understand where you are coming from. LM and I have been with my parents in the north (gasp) where I grew up and I can't wait to go back home to the south (which for someone who grew up in NJ to admit is huge!!!).

We have three and a half months behind us that have gone pretty fast I hope that your time goes quickly as well :)
