Proud

Wanna know where I've been the past few days? Thursday Jer and I cleaned house. Friday our company arrived, Jer's Uncle and Aunt-n-Uncle.
Wanna know why we had company? Kyra, Jeremy and myself were all baptised into the Catholic church. Jer and I were also confirmed and took our First Communion.
Leave it to Kyra to be the comic relief for the service. She decided in the middle of the whole thing to take her shoe off, then promptly demand it to be put back on.
While I grew up in the church, Jer was a convert of sorts. And Kyra, well, now Kyra doesn't have to go through attending a church she can't take full part of like I did growing up.

I'm proud. I'm proud of my faith. I'm proud of my family. And Sunday, I went from being mortified of standing up in front of the whole church, to completely satisfied as I took my First Communion. Whether you believe in the same things as I do or not, I hope you guys are proud of me too. Proud of me for accomplishing something I've been putting off for several years now.

  2. Congratulations. I am so proud of you. Being baptised and part of a church is such a blessing. I hope the three of you continue to get closer to God. Quite apart from the benefits of knowing Him for Himself, His presence is quite handy in the Navy-wife business.

    So happy.

  3. That is great Alicia! I am really proud of you. I am in the process of looking for a church to attend around here because I want Aeralyn to be able to grow up in a church too. Congrats!

  5. Congratulations. I personally think (and really no one cares what I personally think) that religion and/or spirituality is an important part of who we are so kudos for you to have celebrated these sacraments together as a family. And kudos to Kyra for stealing the show!

  6. Mrs. Devoe- "have others join us"? What the hell, is it a cult? You see, I was already part of the Catholic cult, I just didn't partake in all the weird ritualistic sacrifices of first born children, first pets, and all that fun stuff!

Much thanks to all of you though. I am happy to now be a full fledged cult member!
