The Sweet Escape

You've heard this song by Gwen Stephani, right? Kyra has a new love for this song.

It has played on the radio, oh, only about 80 times while driving around town these last two days. Kyra, strapped into her car seat, will bob her head from shoulder to shoulder, wave her arms in the air, clap, and when the "woo hoo, yee hoo" part comes on, Kyra starts singing "woo woo, woo woo."

It's these times I wish I had all of you in the car with us to witness this. Sure, it might be a bit cramped, but it would be so worth it. Jer and I have laughed so hard emergency pee breaks were needed. The sight is just absolutely precious!

Today I'm making it my mission to try to get some video of it. It is a must, you all have to witness this. Now, only to get it on film, and then get my computer back.

I Want My F*cking Computer Back!

We have had snow twice, TWICE, in the matter of days. We went sledding. The first time for Kyra and I. The Babies ran up and down the empty hill with us, nipping and barking at us the entire way down.

Kyra, with red kissed cheeks and nose, laughed and giggled down the hill, and when given a few moments to herself, was on her hands and knees eating the snow. Today she helped Jer make a snow man. And took the occasional attack and tried to eat the snow fellow.

I have lots of pictures and still no computer to which to load them on to. I know you guys live day to day, waiting to find a new oh so cute picture Kyra and our adventures to be posted.

Hopefully later this week I will have my computer back. And when that time comes, I will promptly take Jeremy to Best Buy to get him a shiny new lap top. Then ban him from ever touching my computer again.

Whoa, Whoa, Wait A Minute...

According to TED's Wife, Addison on Gray's Anatomy is supposed to be in a new spin off. Where was I when this information came out? I haven't heard one thing about it... not even a hint! Anyone else have more news on this? A link or something that I can read, and judge, and scrutinize?

Gray's Anatomy, We've Gotta Talk

So you didn't kill Meredith, I give you credit for that. And Heather called it last week that you were gonna do away with Meredith's Mom. I was prepared for that... didn't see the point, but at least she told her daughter after she was dead that she wasn't average. Way to recover you bitter woman.

Um, I don't like where you're going with this whole Izzy, Callie, George thing. Izzy and George are supposed to be best friends. George should have at least asked why Izzy felt the way she did about George. And now Callie and Izzy fighting? This is just getting to be too much.

McSteamy and Addison... I don't think Addison will last the 60 days. She'll make nice with the intern, what's his name?

Oh, and that's another thing, Intern What's His Name needs a better story line if I can't remember him by name.

Does anyone know if that was the season finale? They didn't show a preview for a new episode.

What the Hell?

1) Do any of your husbands/significant others use your tooth brush? Am I the only one who thinks this is disgusting? Jer can not grasp the concept of which tooth brush is his. Even though his is blue and mine is pink. This morning, he used mine. Again! For like the 18 time this year! (and it's only February) I am tired of going out and buying new tooth brushes because he "forgets" which one is his. Once his mouth has touched my brush, its dead to me. I can't bring myself to use it again. I know, we swap all kinds of other cooties, but I just can't make myself hold on to a tooth brush of mine that he has used.
2) The weather two days ago was freezing cold. We had 23 degrees for a high. Yesterday and today? We've gotten to 50! Is winter over or just taking a break? According to the weather man this morning, we've only had 5 (or 6?) weeks of winter temperatures. What? Am I living back in Florida again?
3) Have you guys seen this? I found it over at SATGS. I've watched all six. Fantastically creative and funny!
4) Kyra is definitely growing. I though she was, but being that she's still fitting 9-12 month pants, I thought it was my imagination. Nope, she has grown. I took her in to the clinic today for a height and weight check. 21 pounds and 32 inches.

Do Little People Only Have Short Legs?

Because, if I had my computer back, which is currently being fixed because my fantastic husband downloads too much crap and has seemed to crash the entire thing, (but don't tell him I said that because he's a little touchy on that subject and denies doing anything to it. Ha! I know him better then that) then I'd be able to show you guys what it looks like when Kyra wears a size 9-12 month pants that fit, perfectly in length and width, paired with a 9-12 month shirt, that fits in width but is 3 inches too short.

Two months ago, at her 15 month check-up, she was 20 pounds and 31 inches. She has the weight of an average 12 month old, but the height of an average 15 month old. This does nothing for me when trying to properly fit her for any kind of outfit. Sure, it may fit her in length, but then it swallows her whole. Or, if I get something that fits her weight and width, then her tummy or behind is sticking out.

12-18 month pants are too long for her midget legs and just fall off her tiny frame of a waist, 12-18 month shirts are starting to be too short for her long torso and allow her tummy to poke out of some of them. Babies R Us is filled with completely cute and adorable spring and summer outfits in which the top and bottoms come in the same size. See my problem?

Its no secret to me that she gets this from me. My itty bitty legs are so short that petite pants are still too long, and the average shirt, after being washed and dried, tends to crop me at my tummy. I too have a difficult time finding clothes that fit me well and look descent.

So here is my question to you all, do Little People (aka: midgets) only have tiny legs, or tiny everything? And if Little People do have only tiny legs, are you then calling me and Kyra midgets?

Fatty, Anyone?

Would you call me a fatty if I told you I've eaten 2 boxes of Peeps in two days? 2 boxes=30 individual Peeps. And I ate them. All.

God Said, "Let There Be Light!"

Kyra has this fascination with lights. She will point out lights to you all day long. Put her in her car seat, "Oh, look Mama, there's a light. You see it right? Look. LOOK! A light!" Set her down for any reason at the the dinner table, "Daddy. Its a light! You see it? Light, light!" This all used to be conveyed with insistent pointing, grunting, and baby babble.

Jeremy has now taught her the actual word. So in church this morning, she felt the need to point out every light in the place. Mind you, there are lots of lights. So, instead of listening to Father give his Homily, I was saying, "Yes, Kyra, I see the lights." "Good job, that is a light." "Yep, there's another light." "Ya, light. That's a light."

She has never been so emphatic about a light before. Think it may have had something to do with God and the whole "Let there be light" thing?

Gray's Anatomy, You Suck

You can't kill Meredith, she's a vital part of the show. It would be a horrible mistake if she doesn't come back to life next week.

Way to go Izzy! First you drill into a patient's head while he's slapped between two cars, then you tell George that he made a mistake marring Callie. You have balls Izzy, you have some large balls.

Dr. Burk, seriously, Christina loves you, but you're all kinds of smothering her. Let her have her girl friend to call when she needs someone to help clean up a murder.

The ending was fantastic with Meredith waking up, in what ever after life she was in, with Denny and the bomb squad guy there. I was not expecting that one.

What's this ending preview where you say there will be a devastating ending? What's that all about? I already told you that you can't kill Dr. Gray. Why does next week have to be devistating? This is why, this week, you suck. I need a better hint to what is going to happen.

Who Has Manners?

Kyra is learning her manners. That's right folk, in between the throwing her self on the ground because we're not going to carry her around, and in between the banging her head on the floor, table, or any hard apparatus she can find because we won't carry her around, she has learned to say "thank you". Well, her own version of it anyway. She says ta-tou. When you give her something to eat, "ta-tou." When she gives you a toy, "ta-tou." Its rather cute and a nice change from the temper tantrum she's throwing at this very second. (with all these tantrums lately I hate to see what the "terrible 2's" brings me) She is also starting to mimic some form of "You're welcome" which sounds more like "ga-um."

Bishop has also learned manners. Like when Kyra want to sit on him, he usually stays put. He'll even give her a couple licks for good measure. Gross to you and I, but Kyra seems to enjoy it!

Who has yet to learn any manners is Old Man Winter. Yes, I'm still fighting with him. The aftermath of Agatha (who knew the North named their snow storms?) has left a 3 inch sheet of ice on my back porch. And the salt we threw down on it didn't touch it even a little bit. Any advice from someone who is more winter savvy then I? Seriously, it was quite a feat not to bust my rear while taking the Babies out this morning. I threatened them the entire time I was balancing on the ice to "be easy. Be.Easy."

**Thank you Lindsey for trying to do a snow dance for me. I greatly appreciate the thought. I think you might have taken a wrong step somewhere and instead did the Ice Storm dance. Keep practicing, I'm counting on your help to get me some snow before Kyra and I head down south for the spring and early summer.

I Feel Cheated

What the Hell? I live in New England, and we have yet to have any measurable amount of snow to go sledding with.

We're in the middle of a HUGE storm right now that tops even the President's first speech of the New Year (oh, boy, aren't we all just thrilled to death) on every news channel's half hour updates. It started snowing last night, sometime after the hubby and I went to bed. (first, did you hear that? The hubby and I? He's home again! secondly, we were in bed shortly before 10, because we're old like that)

How much snow have we gotten so far, since according to the weather man it's been snowing since before midnight? 0.5 inches. That's right folks, Old Man Winter can't seem to hack it over here in my neck of the woods. Sure, upstate New York has nearly 12 feet of snow on the ground. But my house? We've received 3 inches all winter.

0.5 inches. Since midnight! How crappy is that? Oh, and to top it off... sometime after 8:30 this morning it switched over to sleet or freezing rain or some kind of frozen substance that falls out of the sky. But now, now we have rain because we've managed to climb to an incredibly warm 33 degrees outside. Ya, what a pretty day it is to go play in our .5 inches of snow while we get pelted with frozen, or nearly frozen rain. All that lovely slush that's all over the road, it makes for great driving conditions when Jeremy gets to come home from work.

Damn you Old Man Winter! You've cheated me out of this winter.

New Words!

Since Jeremy has left, and that has been about two weeks ago, Kyra has learned a slew of new words, and some of these new words used to be just mimicked, but now she knows what they mean. I have two categories to list, words she knows the meaning of and can say with out prompting, words she knows only for mimicking purposes.

Known Words: Rachel (pronounced Razul), dogie, puppy, baby, ducky, quack quack (pronounced more like a duck who's been smoking all it's life and now has emphysema, really should get this one on tape for you all to see), eye, nose, ear, hair & head (usually sounds the same but she's either patting her head or pulling a strand of hair), arm, hand, button (either for belly button or actual button on my jeans), uh-oh (when something is dropped), stinky (when she's done #2) and butt.

Mimicked Words: Horsey, neigh (horse sound), baa (sheep sound), moo (cow sound), boat, potty, and poo poo.

What she still hasn't managed to grasp is the "how much do you love mommy or daddy" trick. I was hoping she'd have this down by the time Jeremy got back. Oh well, she's still absolutely adorable doing it her own way.

As for my state practical, I think I did good, but I won't get the results back until Wednesday or Thursday.

Kyra Dancing

Joelle was so kind as to take this video of Kyra dancing with her shiny new camera. (I was busy at a study group for my state practical EMT-B exam that I take tomorrow. Wish me luck!) Why photobucket deems her videos worthy of uploading and not mine is beyond me. Thank you Joelle, for capturing Kyra dancing.

Catching My Breath

1) Why didn't most of you know about the whole Blackwater thing? That would be because our stellar government still has millions of dollars worth of contracts with them. Seriously, if you were the government, would you want the rest of the country to know what a fantastic crack job these people are doing?

For my old high school buddies, what can you do for Kristal? I have no idea. I think she's good, she seems to be in a good place. Mind you this whole thing happened a couple of years ago. I wrote her to tell her how proud of her I was. She wrote back telling me she hoped this would humanize this war for people. So there's your help for her. Make this human for that someone you know who is still living in a bubble.

2) Anna Nicole Smith died today? How tragic and sad is that for her 5 month old little girl Dannielynn? First her brother, now her mother. Oh, and lets start a new wave of media frenzy with this whole paternity test. Poor kid. What a horrible way to start out her life. I shall keep that little girl in my prayers tonight.

3) I've been trying to teach Kyra that when I say "How much do you love Mommy (or Daddy)?" she'll stretch her arms out gesturing "this much". Instead, this picture is the response we get. Does that mean she only loves us a little bit? Or is she saying "what's love got to do, got to do with it? What's love, but a second hand emotion..."

4) How spectacular and great was Gray's Anatomy tonight?! I'm at a loss for words. Fabulous, Gray's people. Just fabulous!

F*ck Blackwater

Blackwater. Bet most of you have never heard of these people. Neither had I until tonight. Have you seen this archived video? A little old, I know. What about this story and video from today?

While watching the 6:30 news, I saw a high school friend of mine, Kristal. She was the captain of the cheerleading team with me. She was the sweetest girl I knew, and I could only attribute this to her mother and father, who were also the sweetest people you could have ever met. Her father was part of that group of 4 men who were dragged around the streets of Iraq like rag dolls. This beautiful girl has to stand on Capital Hill and defend her late father and family because Blackwater was ill manned, ill equipped, and could have cared less about these men's lives.

I'm not very political. I support my husband in the Navy. I support our troops. I frown upon Bush and his shoddy administration. But I now have a sever hatred for this Blackwater company.

They claim that these four men, who lost their lives trying to help in Iraq, knew what they were getting into. Some how I doubt when they signed their contract, included in the forewarning was a clause with "oh, and by the way, we're going to send you on such frivolous mission as to pick up kitchen ware in one of the most dangerous cities in Iraq while being ill equipped of protective cars, weapons, armor and men. " Just sign by this "x" please.

She's Not The Only One!

You all know my thing with the different ways Kyra sleeps. Well, apparently she's not the only one. This is how I caught Kyra sleeping last night. Yes, sleeping. I watched her slowly creep off the side of the bed until this was her final resting place. Joelle had been telling me about how she's been finding Rachel like this for weeks now. I guess Kyra's jumped on that same band wagon. Seriously, if I fell asleep like this, I think I might fall completely out of bed.
** Top picture is Kyra, bottom picture is Rachel.

Water Water Every Where

I was taking pictures and video of Kyra in the bath tub Friday night to send to Jeremy. But, because I have one of the cutest little girls to ever grace this earth, I had to show you guys what a big mess a cute little girl can make. Don't be fooled by this face people.
This mess here will be coming to a grandma's bathroom in the near future. Hope you have taken some stock in towel's Mom.
**An update on our snow for Heather. We have not recieved any more measurable snow. A flurry here or there, but thats all. I do have a frozen lake in our back yard where the snow melted and has frozen up again. Oh, ya, this makes for fun times when taking the Babies out to do their business and I have to navigate around the ice patches.

We Have Snow!

That's right folks, it's 7:45 in the morning and I'm dancing around waiting on Kyra to finish her pancakes so I can go play in the snow! Yea!

Pictures to follow during Kyra's nap today, stay posted.

***************************************************

We had about an 1-1 1/2 inches of snow. Kyra was back out waving, this time to all the snow plows. One of them was caulk full of workers, and I think Kyra made their day! They had their windows down, 4 of them in the front cab, and they slowed to a creep when passing Kyra as she waved and said "Hi-ee!" All but the driver clamored to hang out the window and in a baby voices shouted "hi!" back to Kyra. The driver gave off a couple light honks of the horn. Kyra was truly thrilled by them. They were the only ones to respond to her today.

We had a lot of fun. I had some extra fun for Lindsey. Kyra fell about a dozen times, cried, got back up and tried to make her way back to the side of the road to greet the rest of the passersby. She also ate more snow, at one point in time she was on her hands and knees eating the snow off the ground. I couldn't get my camera out in time to get a picture of that, would have been great to show the hubby. (who is sadly missing this because the boat is out to sea)

We're supposed to get a "winter mix" tonight. Hopefully that winter mix will consist of nothing else but more snow. And some thicker snow at that. We have this huge hill behind us, two brand new unused sleds, and the snow today was too powdery and not enough to be effective. I know, I watched several others try to slide down the hill, and only one person made it. They had an inner tube. Bring on the snow Old Man Winter!

WTF Gray's Anatomy?

Izzy and Dr. Bailey's clinic is built and opened in 8 days?

George and Callie Married? In Vegas?

Richard's wife left him? Bitch.

Toxic Blood, everyone is affected, most pass out and no one dies?

Meredith's mother comes out of her fog just as quickly as she falls back in it?

Um, Christina, would you just put on the damn ring?

Addison, dreaming of Alex while getting it on with Mc Steamy?

Seriously, could we not think of any more insane plots to pack into one single episode? Next time, lets focus on one or two and save the rest for another night. I enjoyed them all, don't get me wrong, but I would have liked a little more depth to the episode.

Girl's Got Shoes

Heather made a comment on my last post about how cute Kyra's shoes were. Oh, boy, if you only new the extent of her shoes.

Kyra has an enormous shoe collection. Mainly because I love shoes (and wish I could have them in every color and style) I have made sure that since her shoes are so cheap, that I dote my love of shoes on her. Here are all of the shoes she owns and fits into. (I have already started her a collection in the next size up)

These are her "everyday" shoes. Starting from left to right we have her slippers, her new tennis shoes Santa put in her stalking, her old tennis shoes we still use when she wants to play out side in the dirt, her totally cool and stylish boots Gayla got for her just because they were a must have, and finally, her warm, fake fur lined winter boots for warmth.

And here we have her dress shoes. Once again, from left to right, her black shiny dress shoes, her pseudo suede "high heel" dress shoes, her pseudo suede "low heel" dress shoes, her white sandals, her white shiny dress shoes, her white "Mary Jane's", and finally her brown "Mary Jane's".

See, I told you she had quite the shoe collection. It's a whole lot better then mine. I've got quite a number, but it doesn't even compare.
